Forensics
St. Lucas is involved in forensics competition. Students in grades 5-8 are invited to participate in this academic competition. The forensics season begins in January. Forensics can help to develop a student's speaking abilities, acting talents, and research skills. The forensics team is coached by Mrs. Yttri. Interested students are encouraged to save interesting stories, poems, plays, or speeches that they encounter throughout the school year.
St. Lucas attends the Kettle Moraine Lutheran Grade School Forensics Contest in March. In preparation for this contest, St. Lucas holds a preliminary contest one week before competition. This has become known as our Pie and Ice Cream Social. Students are judged at both contests. Medals and ribbons are awarded at the KML Grade School Forensic Contest.
