“What do you want for Christmas?” How many times already has someone asked you this? Maybe you answered that you really don’t need anything. Maybe your family decided to forego gifts and will spend the money instead on a family vacation or a favorite charity. But hopefully, we never tell God we don’t need his gift. How many of us could live without the treasure he gives us in the manger? With the passing of another year do we need the forgiveness, peace and love his Son came to bring any less than we did before? God’s gift of his Son keeps giving. What a blessing to have the message of the angels, “a Savior has been born to you,” resonate in our hearts and lives again this Christmas. What a privilege to share this gift with those who are struggling with guilt, hurt or doubt. Perhaps the best gift you will give someone this Christmas is the assurance that God gave his Son to be their Savior too. We have several opportunities to gather together to celebrate the gift of God’s son for our salvation. We pray your family will join your brothers and sisters in Christ for the special worship opportunities listed on the right. Invite friends, family members and coworkers to worship with you this Advent and Christmas to rediscover the great love of our God that gave the world his only Son.
